Wow this is game is so good! I cannot believe it was not on my radar. This certainly is one of the best games I ever played in VR. And there is so much content. Very challenging though. I had trouble finishing it within my subscription period. This is probably _the_ best game out there you can get for subscription and worth buying it, too.

Very impressed with this pick. Graphics are superb, story line is interesting and a smooth feel. Good mix of action and adventure in a strange new world. Totally recommend. Best one I have seen so far with my subscription! I about backed it down to 4 stars because of the annoying in-game typing and terrible ending but it hooked me and I played for hours.

I am enjoying this and it is both immersive and challenging and a nice combination of puzzles and combat

If you’re looking for a great science fiction game with tons of content and exploration to offer, as well as a great combat system, then Apex Construct is a no brainer. Seriously, it’s one of the best games available on the HTC Vive right now, and not playing it means you’re missing out on one of the best experiences out there.

The most beautiful VR game I’ve ever tried.

At first I don’t see the controllers, but shutting it down and power up again it appears ^_^

Fantastic expererience. Couple of movements feel a little clunky (typing and drinking things) but I am sure will improve when VR overall improves. Highly recommend!

only a couple of hours in to this game but utterly brilliant so far, good story, great graphics and the combat mechanics are superb. I’m a big archery fan and the bow feels great. If you like action adventure with some mystery thrown in this is a must have VR title.

The game was overall a very nice experience!
Let’s talk about the various aspects:
– Design 10/10: very colorful and great atmosphere, I felt the world as in it
– Story 7/10: to be fair, it was rather interesting, lots of side elements to understand the world better and such. However I felt like lacking details in the end, especially the ending that was… disappointing, no big explanation, revelation or anything 🙁
– GamePlay/Interface 8/10: the interface is great and very easy to use, I recommand other developper to use a similar one. The bow is a great idea for fights as you can do the movement to fully use VR pottential, also avoiding the shoots is fun and ninja like ;)!
I would suggest better balancing of some fights and the explosive arrow. Balanced between exploration and fights but sometime I had to look for help online.
Overall fun 9/10: ~10h in 2 days straight! Loved it! 🙂

I like the mix of combat and puzzle solving. So far I have not seen much of that in VR games and it is done well in Apex Construct. Would definitely recommend to others.

Really nice game. Environment leads you trough the story and you are suppose to search for every clue how to proceed. Your only weapon is a bow…. The graphics are pretty nice and I was caught for a hour and half after the firs start of the game.

An interesting story, using the good ol’ system of mission, a weapon really fun to use… well, at this moment, probably the best VR game is tested. even typing on keyboards made me giggle.

big plus : the motion is designed to avoid sickness. your inner ear will thank you.

* You can get stuck teleporting up high places and into walls.
* Please fix 3D audio. It gets mixed up all the time. Sounds coming from wrong directions most of the time.
* Please Have game auto switch to regular arrow when you run out
* Please have auto complete option so you only have to type first two letters of word on keyboard.
* Please add multiple player saves
– More back tracking then any game ever
– Horrible at guiding the player on where to go next
– Very good combat when you get used to it
Player Suggestions:
* Set “floor bounds always on” in chaperone settings so you can have option to physically dodge things and know where you can quickly move to.
* Don’t let yourself get stuck too long. Look at “Ben Plays VR” Youtube for Apex Construct play through.
* Learn to use the quick switch button. (Up on right trackpad)

This game was a nice surprise and I would definitely recommend checking it out. I feel like it did a great job between puzzle and action and there is a decent amount of content that you can go through and replay missions if you want to 100% the game. Only downfall was the ending. I don’t want to spoil anything but it would have been nice for a little bit more backstory and what happened to the others in the past (maybe you get that with finding more of the secrets etc) and what happens moving forward in the future.

Good game. Great graphics, playability, smart enemies and a lot of secrets to find.

Only in English and no subtitles 🙁

After sifting through loads of crap it was refreshing to play an actual game. The story deffenatly kept me in this one and I experienced zero issues.

One of the best games on here. The controls are still very VR 1.0 but the story is interesting and the graphics are great.

Superbly polished and immersive, nice personality/ ambiance, good bood & arrow mechanics: One of the too few must-do PCVR game.

But 4 stars only because a little repetitive, and a “conclusion” which is absolutely not up to the great overall quality.

Good game but still needs some work. The concept is original and I liked the controller mechanics. It was easy to learn to get around and combat was smooth and not difficult to master. There was multiple times where for some reason the AI (father and mother) would repeat the same thing if you re-entered the same area while never leaving the level. The ending was also disappointing as once you have completed it all you are told is thebasically the world awaits unless I am missing something. I also enjoyed the sub-game with the speed trials. Overall, the game is very enjoyable and a good VR game that stands above others. Definetly worth looking into.

A good Game after all, a good mix of action and puzzles, the AI is very good, sometimes too good, make me thinking “how could he know that I will do this” 😀 But I think this is just random, but anyway a nice feeling. The enemies feels too hard sometimes, maybe you should add a difficulty system wich can be changed in game. Easy should add a larger hitbox for example, because it’s frustrating if you shoot on a leg or on the “hair” and the arrows don’t hit. The shield could be deactivated for a longer time after hit, because it’s hard to switch the arrows (yeah I know Up on the right Controller is the hotkey) and hit with the first try. The realism should come AFTER the fun 😉
The level where you have to add the 3 “power tanks” to the big machine was no fun 🙁 The dogs ran always UNDER the platform, so you can’t shoot them and often can’t even see them if you looked on the other side :/

I’m pretty sure they skipped end-user testing here before the actual release. So many bugs – crappy sound coming from wrong directions, pulling bow when opening boxes, bad teleport that allows you get to the places where you cannot get from. Bow mechanics is ok, switching arrows very crappy. But the worst is the stupid typing of those commands! Unbelievable! Why not just put there two buttons “open” and “dir”. Typing with one finger in VR was driving me crazy. Also reading the super small text from the console is not comfortable at all!
Regarding the story – very interesting, expect the ending – because there is none. No closure, no big reveal of what happened. Very sad.

awesome graphics, good storyline, all of the great things about this game get overshadowed by the far less than perfect movement mechannics. I found my self moving into walls, computer desks, The hit boxes need much attention. also free locomotion need an update as I have to mash down on the track pad just to move then it seems to keep going after I lift my finger. This can get you killed as you cannot defend yourself if you have issues with movement. I’m not sure if there is going to be another update, however if the movement was fixed this would be a solid game.

It’s a great game. Truly, very fun, pretty, and a great example of a full length VR game. Until, that is, another completely silent dog janks its way across the terrain and into the corpse of its friend such that anything you shoot at it just bounces off, before exploding (again completely silently) and damaging the tower you’re supposed to be defending while standing in one of the few places where you can’t actually see the tower. It’s worth giving a couple hours to during your monthly subscription, but almost entirely because of the sound design, it’s sure as hell not worth $30. The loudest sound in the game is that of your own bow being drawn, which comes in exclusively through one ear. After that is music, dialogue, and everything else layered on top of a game wherein it would be really goddamn nice to be able to hear the enemies shooting at you at all.

The Game is ok.
Nice Graphics, also the bow and arrow physics are well done.
To open folder on the computers is frustrating cause of quick tippers.
To teleport (on Rift) with the Y button is irritating. One of the Buttons on the right controller would be better.

I liked the game through the first 1-2 hours. But this tower-defence level where you have to restart all the time from the beginning while loosing all equipment – sorry no. Deinstalled it after that.

This game is almost brilliant, however it just misses by a little on so many levels it instead is “Not so Great”.
The archery mechanics are fairly poor, and where it is fun firing 10 arrows in 2 seconds, It’s not so good for immersion.
So often the screen just goes completly black because your earlobe touched a wall.
The graphics have a unique charm, and the storyline of Mothr and Fathr the 2 AI’s that hate one another and have quite the history that unfurls as the game progresses. I really got into the evolving story of Mothr, Fahr and the build up to what happened to tear apart and jumble up the earth.
At this point it would still have been 3 or 4 stars instead of 2, suddenly the game is over. You have “The End” trophy, Mothr is defeated and all the loos ends that had been knitting up into quite the story stop.
I can only gues they ran out of budget and the boss screamed “RELEASE!!!!”

Feb 24, 2019: Would not start. PC = Vive, i7 980 (12 cores at 3 GHz), 12 GB RAM, Nvidia 970 GTX, Windows 10.
Apr 20, 2019: No change.

really repetitive, for the unlimited it is a very good game and a game to start off but after a while it is just boring, same thing over and over, just adding a shield to an enemy doesnt make very different. i would recommend try this game, you make like it more than i did but i found it very boring after a few levels.
