The only real negative to Kobold is the game’s various controls. They can be a bit clunky at times—especially the locomotion system—which can lead to things feeling a little jarring when you’re put into very intense situations. Aside from the clunky controls, though, Kobold stands high as a shining example of just how good trans-media can be, as the combination of the short film and the extensive details that translate to the actual virtual reality experience come together to create a unique and exceptionally well-crafted

RIGHT AT THE END OF 2019, KOBOLD HAS TO BE #1 RIGHT NOW AS THE MOST REALISTIC AND BEST LOOKING HORROR GAME TO BE RELEASED RIGHT NOW IN THE VR HORROR GENRE. WITH HAVING PLAYED ON RELEASE DAY, A TOP OF THE LINE PC WITH AN i9,32GB RAM AND A 11GBGeForce RTX 2080 Ti IS NOT HELPING WITH THE GAMES HORRIABLE CONTROLS AT THE TIME….THAT IS THE BEAUTY OF THESE GAMES…. THINGS LIKE CONTROLS CAN ALWAYS BE FIXED AND CHANGED

THE THING ABOUT THIS GAME….OR HORROR GAME IN GENERAL.
IF U NEVER PLAYED THE GAME, YET KNOW MORE ABOUT IT ALREDY THEN ITS DEVELOPER, PLUS HAVE SEEN UR FAVORITE DUECEBAG’S PLAY THRU VIDEO ALREADY ON YOUTUBE…THEN YES…i WOULD TOTAL HAVE TO AGREE WITH GENIUS HERE…THIS GAME IS GOING TO SUCK. AND ID SUGGEST FOLLOWING ANOTHER TREND, NOT HORROR GAMES ANYMORE

THOSE WHO GET IT THOUGH AND WANT TO BE TERRIFIED AND HAVE AN AMAZING EXPERIANCE.

KOBOLD . DELIEVERS!!!

Fantastic! Worth every penny. Its super creepy… looks beautiful good story and smooth free movement that didn’t make me sick at all. When I finally made it up into the attic I screamed like a little kid. This is exactly what VR horror should be 🙂 Nice job!

A fanstastic horror experience perfect for Halloween!
I always thought of Kobolds as those litlte DnD creatures
but this was something entirely different. There is this
pervasive atmosphere of dread as you walk through a
scary old house and get more and more involved in the
twisted story of a family that lived there in the 1970s.
There are several extremely scary moments that I dont
want to spoil but be warned: I ripped off my Vive screaming
like a sissy and woke up my flatmate. Super cool thank you!

Very atmospheric smooth and polished horror experience. Made my skin crawl and yes I nearly soiled myself a few times. Get this if you love horror!

Nice, but only about 10 minutes worth of nice. At $10 I say no, but it’s worth a subscription slot. Graphics and environment are top-notch. Interactivity with in-game objects (those that can be interacted with) is wonky and often frustrating, and the dang backpack is incredibly irritating (and when it comes down to it, unnecessary). It would also be nice not to have to sit there holding a letter to hear the contents. This is a great example of world-building, but short, and needed more play-testing for ease of play.

This game has unbelievable potential. The atmosphere is incredibly scary by itself. I would get goosebumps just walking in the hallways. There was one scare that got me so good my scream was heard by my daughter….two floors up hahaha. The graphics are great as well. My only complaints are:

– The controls are not so well. I would much rather the touchpad move you in the direction you are pointing and not the direction you are looking
– OMGoodness the bag is incredibly annoying!!! Make it a small fanny pack or something. Not this huge “lets pack my gear to go camping” bag basically sitting on my chest
– VERY short game. Would love to see more

All in all the scares got me a few times and I overall enjoyed the game….albiet short.

It was pretty cool. graphics are pretty decent and the atmosphere great/scary. The satchel is kinda in the way at times and the controles coule be better and it would be nice to have an ingame menu, but it dosent make or break it for me. Other then a few minor setbacks its a pretty cool experience that has you on edge the whole time. BRING ON THE OTHER CHAPTERS!!

With some polishing and a longer storyline this could be a standout VR experience.
It’s still worth a subscription slot for a play-through in it’s current form.
Looking forward to it being extended.

Also das war ja mal richtig super! Gänsehautgrusel ohne permanente billige “Jumpscares” in toll umgesetzter Umgebung!

Horror=Great atmosphere
Very short experience.

Performance was poor in some areas being at 13-14 ms per frame even on my RTX 2070, and this caused stuttering in some cases. A deal breaker for me was that you cannot save or even change graphics settings along the way. There isn’t even a pause button. And then it is very short. Overall disappointing.

worst optimization i have ever seen. the game is literally made by someone that has zero idea how unreal engine works and has no will to optimize it.

im running this game on high speed SSD but yet the read and write is such a fucking cluster f**k.

worst horror VR iv played yet. get a grip
