Sandbox VR Austin is the world’s most advanced virtual reality for groups of up to six, combining movie-quality real-time motion capture and haptics that bring you closer together. Inspired by Star Trek’s Holodeck, Sandbox VR creates entire virtual worlds that allow you to see and physically interact with your friends unprecedentedly.
Experience the World’s Most Advance Virtual Reality
If you’re looking for an advanced virtual reality experience, Sandbox VR is the perfect option. Their socially immersive gaming experience combines sophisticated “motion capture in real time” with virtual reality technology to deliver the world’s most advanced metaverse–a world where you and your friends are in a blockbuster action-adventure together!
You and your friends can fend off zombie hordes, enter a swashbuckling world of adventure, soar into space in an elevator, or compete against your friends in a futuristic combat arena. These experiences you can only enjoy with a group of people make Sandbox VR a unique experience unlike anything else on earth!
CEO Steve Zhao began Sandbox VR to create a new retail space where people could play a blockbuster-style VR adventure. He worked hard to make it happen, but a serendipitous conversation changed how he approached his business.
It’s been a long journey for Zhao and his team. It was a struggle at times, but their hard work paid off. They developed a movie-quality motion capture rig, built real-time inverse kinematics to make it work with multiple users in constrained spaces, designed a 30-minute AAA game experience, constructed a retail store from scratch, and figured out how to market it virally.
As it turns out, the VR industry is likely to find its footing first and foremost in elaborate arcade experiences. These places let people try cutting-edge technologies without buying expensive headsets, and experts can customise and administer the affairs.
Moreover, many experts believe virtual reality better suits large spaces than people’s homes. For example, the Park Meadows location of Sandbox VR has five private rooms for virtual reality gameplay called “holodecks,” where groups of up to six players can enjoy games explicitly designed to be social experiences.
The Park Meadows location also features a private party room for birthday parties and corporate events, making it an ideal place to host the most memorable event of your life. Book your visit now to receive exclusive pre-opening savings and a chance to win free holidays for a year!

Experience a Socially Immersive Gaming Experience
Sandbox VR Austin offers a Socially Immersive Gaming Experience to groups of up to six people. It uses motion trackers and headsets with a haptic system to create an immersive experience.
The sandbox vr experience is inspired by Star Trek’s holodeck and uses motion-capture technology to create a socially immersive environment. This experience is ideal for outings with friends and family and is a fun and exciting way to spend time together.
Guests enter the deck space wearing a VR headset and motion trackers, allowing them to move freely around the room. Then they choose a game, including Amber Sky 2088, which taps into sci-fi. Other games, such as Deadwood Valley, embrace horror, while the Curse of Davy Jones takes players on a high-seas adventure.
A typical 30-minute session costs $55 per person Monday through Thursday and $55 per person Friday through Sunday. It also includes mixed reality videos at no extra cost.
Some guests are surprised by the realistic experience; others remark that they can’t believe they’re there and want to go back. It’s not uncommon for a group to hoot and holler and be amazed by the experience, said Jason Huckaby, Sandbox VR’s general manager in Fort Worth.
Huckaby said the Fort Worth location opened earlier this summer and has been a steady stream of gamers since opening. He said the business is growing based on the interest in virtual reality and the fact that people want to try it with their friends.
After checking in and signing safety waivers, the game enthusiasts are taken to the quartermaster, fitted with about 20 to 25 pounds of equipment. This includes a haptic vest, backpack and headphones. The gamer is given a VR headset, and the room’s motion sensors are put on their wrists and ankles.
Another thing the gamers do before the session is watch a safety video, which explains everything about the VR experience. It’s an excellent way to learn what they can expect and ensure they don’t hurt themselves during the game.

Combining full-body motion capture and high-quality haptics, Sandbox VR delivers unparalleled realism impossible with home VR systems or other location-based VR venues.

The experience combines movie-quality real-time motion capture technology and AAA-quality content to create an unforgettable experience. It’s the perfect way to bond with friends or colleagues in a new, unique and exciting way.
There are several different Sandbox VR games to choose from. Some of the most popular include Amber Sky 2088, Star Trek: Discovery and Deadwood Valley.
For Halloween, Sandbox VR has also launched a terrifying new game that’s guaranteed to scare the hell out of you! The aptly named’ Squid Game’, which will debut in more than 30 global locations late this year, will have players competing against each other to be the last one standing.
What’s more, a 30% discount is available on your first visit when you book before Nov. 3. You can also enter to win free holidays for a year when you book a party!
Whether you’re looking for a birthday party, a bachelor/bachelorette party or want to get out of the house and have a fun night with friends, a Sandbox VR experience is the perfect option.
After checking in, participants head to the quartermaster to get fitted with about 20 pounds of gear: a haptic vest, backpack and various motion sensors on their wrists and ankles. They then are teleported to their chosen holodeck and armed with their weapons, depending on the adventure.
A headset activates the haptic vest and motion sensors. Then, the player gets a little training on using the equipment and a run-through of the game’s mission.
Book a Group Experience
Sandbox VR offers a fully immersive, heart-pounding virtual reality experience designed to be played with friends and family. It combines full-body motion capture and high-quality haptics to deliver unprecedented realism and complete immersion. It enables groups of up to 6 people to freely roam their private rooms, exploring whole worlds while relying on each other to succeed in games created explicitly for social gaming.
Players wear a VR headset and motion-tracking gear, such as a haptic vest, backpack and sensors on their wrists and ankles. They then choose their preferred adventure and move into one of the game’s “holodecks” to be beamed to their chosen world.
The holodecks are spacious, each accommodating up to six people and have a comfortable seating area with cubbies for equipment. Properly outfitted players enter the holodeck and are beamed to their chosen virtual world, where they can interact with fellow players or engage in combat.
The company’s internal development team hand-crafted each of Sandbox VR’s six original virtual worlds. From zombie-filled journeys in Deadwood Valley and Deadwood Mansion to warp-speed space flights in Amber Sky 2088, each is a thrilling VR experience that will leave you and your group feeling like you’ve been there!
In addition to its original worlds, Sandbox VR is partnering with Netflix to launch a new virtual reality game called’ Squid Game’ later this year. ‘Squid Game’ will see players compete against each other in a series of exciting games that’ll have them racing to be the last one standing.
‘ Squid Game’ will be available in select locations worldwide, including the Austin location, according to a press release from Sandbox VR. Guests can sign up for one of the six free-roam adventures, each lasting about 30 minutes.
After signing up, a staff member will take you to a separate area where you’ll receive your headset and motion-tracking equipment. You then can choose from various weapons to use against your opponents. You’ll then be paired with another person to walk you through the experience. The team will also explain how the patented motion-tracking technology works and provide instructions on navigating the holodeck.
