Released Apr 2019 4.4★
Synth Riders is a rhythm game that takes you on a journey into a stunning neon colored cyberpunk world with beautiful stages and music from top Synthwave artist from around the world.
Your goal is to hit different colored notes that fly towards you according to the beat with the corresponding orb in your hand while dodging obstacles. Some notes come solo, others in long lines, some need to be hit with one specific orb, others with both orbs simultaneously. This all creates a great dance-like feeling for the rhythm of the songs and is a great workout.
Features
Unique gameplay tailored for workout
16 hand mapped songs from top synthwave artists in multiple difficulty levels
6 beautiful hand designed stages
Leaderboards

Some recent reviews of Synth Riders:
“I appreciate the depth already present in Synth Riders. I still think it’s an excellent vanilla experience with the possibility to modify and make it as difficult as you might want. So, thrillseekers, what’s your favorite track?” – VR Fitness Insider
“Had a blast playing this game. Great music and great visuals along with enough challenge to keep it interesting.” – Mad_Hatter569
“As soon as I launched this game I was in love with it. I adore everything to do with Synthwave/Retrowave/Outrun and everything about this game is exactly that. The moment you launch it up to the main menu and load into a song captures the style perfectly.” – Hime Best Boy

Absolutely fantastic rhythm game that brings something very special to the table. High levels of style and polish really put this game high on my list of top 3 all time VR rhythm games (others being Beat Saber and Audica). If you’re a fan of rhythm games (or if you’ve never played and want to experience music in a new way) buy this – even if you own BeatSaber. It doesn’t disappoint.
The developers are constantly listening to feedback and pushing out free new content. Between that and the amazing community behind it making mods and custom maps, the game has many hundreds of hours of play ready (my main play time is on my Oculus account, so don’t go by the Steam one here)
TL;DR An amazing, unique rhythm game that offers something no other rhythm game does and with a level of polish rarely seen in VR games and… it keeps getting better!

I know what you’re thinking – it’s the same thing everyone else thinks when they see Synth Riders – and it’s wrong. Despite superficial similarities to certain other VR rhythm games, Synth Riders turns out to be quite distinct.
It’s easier to pick up, but the wider range of possibilities places the skill ceiling higher than it first seems and offers a much larger range of movements and patterns. It’s also surprisingly heavy on the cardio.
Definitely recommended for any rhythm game fans.

I love that game as much as Beat Saber.. honestly, more than Beat Saber – forgive me that herecy 🙂 – because SynthRiderz has obstacles and makes you move more. It’s a really good workout. I use wrist and ancle weights and that’s honestly just a dream come true – first time in my life exercises are not boring anymore.
Would love to have more stages, as for the custom songs, i think there are already plenty and counting.Thank you, developers!

Wow! I thought this game was gonna be some cheap knockoff rhythm game, but it shines as brightly as the neon lights you’ll see while playing this masterpiece. Lots of songs to choose from and it happens to have music that I actually like to listen to, very high quality and goes very well with the setting. I don’t have any discomfort issues, so on to the gameplay. It takes a song or two to get used to and the tutorial/instructions aren’t very descriptive of what you are about to play, but once you get the hang of it….you simple don’t wanna put the controllers down. Very addictive and is more of a freeflow feel instead of simple swinging your arms to hit something. It also doesn’t make you dead tired while playing which allows you to play longer sessions. The harder difficulties are just brilliant and make you feel like you are actually riding a synth wave. Just get it already 🙂

Very fun rythm game, although not that many song choices, but a lot of difficulty choices and multiple modes for more difficulty.
More can be downloaded, I suggest any one playing it go to their Discord and the FAQ, it will guide you.
It looks great and all the synth music is good, I can strongly recommend it.
Just need to find out how to stop so I can play other VR games

The VR community may think Beat Saber is the de-facto Rhythm/Music game, but I think Synth Riders is every bit an equal to Beat Saber. Fantastic game.

if you have your free trial of viveport, try this, and if you want more songs, look for an app called “beat synth converter”

I am really impressed. Play more than the first three songs. They are metal songs and I did not like them too much. But the fourth song is so great with awesome beat maps. You really feel the music and then it stays better.
I do like the high diversity of songs. But of course there is songs you like more than others and beat maps that make you feel better than others…

A great alternative to “the other” VR music/rhythm game, with a great retro style and soundtrack. Only thing its missing IMO is custom track support out of the box, but the presentation and polish make up for it.

Super fun and involving rhythm game. If you are looking for a fitness rhythm game that will work out your back and legs you found it. The music is great if you love 80s style synth, I would love to see more songs come out in the future. The twitch chat integration is a fantastic addition as well.

Feels more like a workout routine than a music game like Beat Saber (of course all music games will be compared to it now), but has a style of it’s own and is well done.

Excelenent game, so enjoyable BUT, It hasn´t too much content (songs, dinamics, characters, multiplayer). But I hope developers will not abandon the game so eventually I will put 5 stars…

Slightly better than Dance Collider, but still boring jabs to the beat. Lacks the dimensions and direction of Beat Saber to be appealing. Awful loading times on an SSD.

Reading the other review….
It’s not fun or polished. The UI is clunky. This is just a copy of audioshield essentially. A game which is 3 years old. And this is much worse. Very very boring.

I didnt like this much, have tried other similiar games, this one is a bit clunky, the music is done by nobody you have heard off and some of the moves personally i found to be night on impossible.
