I have no idea why anyone has rated this lower than 4 stars. Its a super fun game, the physics on each spell are awesome, the bow shoots true, the fireball throw is accurate, everything is super cool. Occasionally the shield doesnt draw, and monsters glitch, but this price, this is a 5 star experience for me. If it was $60 like Skyrim I would expect these things fixed.

Truly an amazing game for $20. The spell mechanics, graphic detail, and enemy varieties make for a great game. Plus having your own Wizard Palace is pretty cool to. 5/5

Great world to explore, adventure in, find stuff, defeat monsters. Great combat mechanics, good amount of variety in spells and enemies, there’s also a few simple puzzles. Never dull.

Excellent game, love the way cast spells, the movement controls good too. Really worth a go. Game seems stable to been playing for 2 hours and no issues.

Oh man this is too cool. Really felt like I was a wizard. Only complaint (and its super minor) is that you can ‘toggle sprint’ but the difference in movement speed between the two is so small, its hard to even tell a difference. Spells work well, and the throwing of the fireballs is actually some of the best throwing I’ve seen in a VR game yet. Other games are so hard to hit things, but these fireballs always seem to go where I want. I sometimes accidentally get the shield up when I’m trying to get the ice bow, though.

This is one of the best magical combat experiences available on VR. The player can explore and fight with a small range of combat spells that gives a real sense of magical power. There is a basic storyline to define a direction to the game. And there are several arcade-style challenges. The player can “magically” adjust level of difficulty. Lots of replayability.

I got this on sale and i must admit it seems it worth full price as well.

the graphics are amazing and the combat system is really wow.

really enjoying this game. get it!!

I got the game on sales at 90% (with the 15$ Vive Subscription gave me) and I must say I’m happily surprised by the quality of the game.
The graphics looks very nice to me, except maybe when you have to read something, it’s a bit blurry even with graphics set to “Very High”.
Hands movements are great, I thrown so many fireball trying to catch the floating torch up above, my shoulder was hurting at the end of the session.
Combat is OK and I think the cards upping the difficulty are a great idea for more challenge.
Hybrid mouvement mode is nice too, instead of choosing between the 2 options.
The voice narration is nice and sometimes funny too..

All in all, I think the game is worth it even at full price, though I don’t know how long it takes to finish it yet.

Wow, this game is truly amazing! The combat mechanics are perfect! They also really nailed the atmosphere, level design, bosses. It really shows when a design house pours their heart and soul into a title and these guys clearly did. Bravo!

This is everything I could have wanted in a wizarding game. The graphics are beautiful. Navigation is super easy, and the spells feel comfortable to cast with practice. M

akes you feel like a truly powerful wizard! Campaigns are short and sweet, which is good when dying means starting the campaign over. This keeps it challenging, but not frustrating.
The only complaint that I have is that occasionally the correct motions do not trigger spells, and it takes a few tries before I can summon a fireball or shield. I’ve only found this to happen when the narrator is talking. It would be nice to have a very clear health bar in the UI (perhaps there is one, and I just haven’t figured it out yet – still new to the game). It would also be nice in the distant future to have extra localization options for voices. Current options are Chinese and English.

With tight controls to summon spells, ever increasing powers and amazing graphics, The Wizards really makes you feel like a mystic enchanter. If you are into fantasy, get ready to don your wizard robe and set off on your next adventure!

Played on WMR (original Samsung Odyssey)
I heard the spell casting was good in this game but I was not sure how it will work on WMR. I am glad to report that it works flawlessly! (fireball now uses the center of the view for aiming and there is a gradual aim assist setting)
There is smooth locomotion and teleport (teleport is required in game), smooth and snap artificial turning.
The graphix are good, game runs smooth (althow some death animations could use a little work as they feel like they should have more frames), sounds are good, combat feels nice and that spell mechanic makes me give it a 5/5!
P.S: After finishing the game I can say I have found throwing spears does not always work as expected and there was an instance where no footstep sounds were made but the game is still 5/5 IMO.

I’m just getting into VR for the first time so playing a lot of titles to see what I like and don’t like. This game is probably the best one I’ve played so far. The mechanics work well with the game and after awhile you actually start casting spells without thinking the movements. I will be playing this game very often and hope it just keeps getting better.

Didn’t finish it yet, but loved it so far. I think more vr games should use the handmotion sort of mechanics to do powers/moves. Very fun

Honestly this has been one of the most fun games Ive gotten to play in my small life in VR.
Sometimes the fireball doesn’t go where I thought it would, or the shield doesnt summon, but all in all. I feel like such an awesome dude casting spells, and taking out Giant orcs. Not sure how you could get less than a 4 star out of this.

The best VR Fantasy Game ive tested till now.
Hope its not going to become hack and Slay.. or it will at least contain some Puzzles.

Great Game, as sayd… best until now 5 Stars

I just finished my first two hours with the game and I have to say it is a blast! The graphics are very good on my 1080ti and it is really a lot of fun to cast multiple spell types just using hand gestures (but don’t be fooled, this game can be a workout after about an hour!).

My only gripe so far is that my fireballs have terrible aim. I may have to adjust the default aiming or it may be a side effect of my Oculus Touch controllers when everything in the game looks like it was designed for Vive wands. But I am still having a blast and looking forward to playing it all the way through.

I would definitely recommened this game at such an affordable price.

Love the gestures for casting spells — you can cast anything you want, you just have to decide and then execute (literally) with monsters in your face. Solid experience.

Ideas for improvement: I would raise my review to five stars if the gesture recognition were a little more tolerant (e.g., fireball only recognizes 75% of the time — maybe the trigger threshold is too strict?). I would also like the monsters to make some amount of noise to help notice their arrival and track their movement (else you have to look around proactively all the time, which makes co-viewers naseous).

Make more!

Though very unpolished and quite buggy at times, it’s a very enjoyable game I would ABSOLUTELY recommend grabbing free for a month with your subscription or, if you’ve got some extra cash kicking around, purchasing.
There is some very nice attention to detail when it comes to physics and destructability of things.

I followed the audio fix (also make sure you click on the window after it comes up, as it has to be the active screen on the computer) and that got it working. Now that the audio is working, the game is a ton of fun, and I am happily fulfilling my fantasies of being a wizard. Very enjoyable for anyone who has always wanted to hurl fireballs, and blast orcs with lightning.

Stable gameplay, awesome spells and allows you to invest ‘skillpoints’ to get more powerful magic! Conjuring a shield or icebow by casting hand gestures makes you feel like a badass too.

Looks and feels great. Wizard stuff is avesome even though you cant really compare villain AI mechanics or graphics to any super high quality pc game. Also, biggest problem is that I can’t find a way to save game, which kinda kills it for me.

Mar 03, 2018
Many bugs, but an awesome game. The inmersion is complete, you feel like you really have magic in your hands.

Jan 13, 2018
When I first started it I was blown away by the atmosphere. It feels really natural and the controls are really intuitive and precise. Had to stop after an hour cause I got motion sick but I will definitely return!

Nice game and good graphic.
It’s great to learn spells with hands gestures, however sometimes they are not recognized.
Sprint also not working most of the time and instead slow down the speed.

The tutorial says I can turn aim-assist (fireball) on inside the game settings. I cannot find the game settings!

I have looked for over 30 minutes on viveport, inside the game, and on google. How do I find settings for this specific game if I downloaded it through viveport?

Kind of insane I can’t find it…

I like the game. It is fun with having to memorize how to do certain spells. It worked great at first, then sound stopped working. Sound works on all my other games, but just stopped working on this game. I went into game setting, and all sound is turned up. would be nice to get some feedback on this issue, because i would like to play this game more. 4 to 5 stars when sound is working, only 3 stars till fixed. I did uninstall and install game, still no sound. ?????

The game mechanics work very well and the combat feels great though teleporting might need a cooldown since even if you over use it to where it is very short range you can just spam it and get the same result. The motions for the spells should have more flex to them as if you add any flourish before or after the intended motion it does not work. Finally the levels are of a nice length but if you die in the final battle then you have to restart the whole level which means you are going back through all the same stuff again. I like this but some design choices mean that it is tough to keep playing.

I wanna give this 3.5 stars, but I can’t so I’ll round down.
This is a reasonably well-put-together game. Music is extremely generic and sound is sometimes lacking when it comes to telling where enemies are. Visuals are nice, if somewhat generic. Enemy animations look good but are at a lower framerate than the rest of the game which feels a bit weird (it feels like they’re premade assets but I won’t judge too much for that, games are hard to make). Puzzles are a bit barebones and I felt myself wishing the spells and puzzles were tied together a bit more. Stages are extremely linear for the most part, so exploration is limited.

What you’re really here for is the combat, and yeah, it’s good. It’s not very *deep* and unfortunately there’s not much reason to stretch outside your comfort zone and use the full range of spells, but the motions feel good and that’s the most important thing.

This does not work at all with WMR. Ok I know nobody promissed me it would but still a disappointment as all other games I tried worked fine. Played this game for a few minutes with a Vive in an arcade hall a few months ago and it worked fine. So maybe it is a good game but not for people with a WMR. I can not even get beyond the start as the fireballs go everywhere accept for forward.

Don’t get this until the developer can actually make this work properly.
Just some of the issues:
•The menu button does 3 different things at the same time so there’s a random chance of you actually doing what you want.
•Gesture recognition is horrible.
•Unless this is the top window, you hear no sound. Literally every other game works if it is minimized, so why can’t this one do it?
These are all issues that are relatively easy to solve, but still aren’t fixed because the developers just don’t care enough to do it. Save your money for another game.

cant get the audio to work. I have 4 other games (fallout, skyrim, gorn, Vive Video) and the audio doesnt cutt out on any of them. I tried resetting the direct mode, I double checked my default audio settings, nothing works. which is a shame because the game itself looks really good. Its sad that I have to leave leave this here but this bug makes the game pretty much unplayable. If this gets patched later I’ll give it another go but for now im off to try something functional.

May 06, 2019

Terrible chore. I was exceedingly bored with the whole time I spent on this. The core mechanic of the game, using “gestures” to cast spells, is uninteresting. The gestures themselves are finnicky at best, and boring to execute even when they do work. Furthermore, there is hardly any interaction between spells; they more exist as a set of simple options, and it is easiest to pick one and stick to it. The stages are very linear and ugly, while combat is completely unengaging. There are better adventure games and fighting games in VR, this isn’t worth the time.

Not sure what game the other reviewers were playing, but this game is unpolished and badly designed. The text auto-follows the peripheral of your vision so you can’t read it, the default movement mode is completely nausia-inducing, and the aiming mechanics for the spells are painful to use. Overall just bad.
